Our Story

Every story begins somewhere, and ours began with one lady, whose passion for HTML and a new web publishing house, Webseed, started what the Internet had never seen before. Webseed became the only and first digital magazine portal in 2000. Being the host to about 800 of the first pioneered digital magazines in the world, when the Internet was barely 5 years old. Many men and women, some just like Andrea McGurran, took their professional writing, ghostwriting, and journalism skills to bring information about many topics, including food, history, news and more to a world eager for information. Andrea's and her fellow Webseeders did what even About.Com and many other Dot Coms could never do. Using an advanced, proprietory CMS (Content Management System), developed by Webseed, 100s of talented creators set the standard for today's website development. However, this was just one of the digital magazines that Andrea McGurran created.

She was called by Webseed to join forces with a talented New York Times journalist to create the world's first digital news magazine within just one day. Getting it designed, up and running, and with volunteer staff across the world, many freelance journalists, it became the centrepoint for digital news about 9-11, on the day of 9-11. It caught the attention and praise of world leaders. And as if that wasn't gruling enough, her passion for history couldn't be held back. One of the world's first Roman Empire history digital magazines was born, becoming number one of Google before the Dot.Com Crash hit.

When the Dot.Com Crash hit, it was catastrophic for many publishing houses and webhosts, including Webseed. Webseed was down by 2002, after an incredible run. Receiving specific and public thanks from the creator of Webseed for her professionalism and talent, Webseed went offline as a publisher, though it's story didn't end there as the talents of its creator lived on with its CMS being shared for profit across the world.

Today, Andrea McGurran has renewed her journalism and other talents across the Internet. With her passion to restart her magazines, rebranded for the 21st century, The Taste Magazine, once called Taste, takes food and recipes from across the world to new heights.

The Taste Magazine's recipes focus on the Mediterranean-lifestyle combined with true Mediterranean diets, because there isn't just one, as many have claimed. The foods from around the Mediterranean come from many cultures and many flavors. The Taste Magazine takes even old recipes and revisits them with revised flavors and even fusions of other flavors.

The Taste Magazine is not going away, but will stay to share these flavors for all those who love food, cooking, and eating and living well. Bon appetit!
